I need to configure a laptop running 2000 professional to be able to log on to a number of completely separate sites.

Some sites use DHCP other static addressing. Is there an easy way to provide a user with a selection of sites/networks at the logon prompt which would subsequently configure the correct IP settings on the laptop.

A tall order I know but...

well, you can't change domains on the fly (unless their trusted), but there is a product called NetSwitcher (I think that's the name) that will automate the changing of IP settings. You can also script this with the NETSH command included with W2K, although it's a bit involved.

Never tried this but you may be able to use hardware profiles to accomplish your goal.
