HI, I have a win2k server machine, i am able to map remote drives to this computer but i dont see this machine on the network. Nothing shows up in the ntwrk nghbrhd. I can log in as any ntwrk user just fine but still not in ntwrk nghbrhd. Tried recreating comp. account, did not help. Weird part is, the sftwre that we run on that machine needs to access remote files but is unable too. I am able to access them just fine through Windows explorer
Thanx in advance.

Possibly an IP conflict. Try restarting the wins service on the PDC

The computer browser service is not on. I tried starting it but it said the dependency service is not on so i checked its dependecy services, which are all on.

Anything being logged in Event viewer? I have seen a similart Problem. I ended up rebuilding the Server as I was spending too much time on it.

What happens if you run ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew????? Do you get a new ip address or does your computer get lost???
