Periodically we get PCs that dont retain the drive mappings from the global logon script.
This issue seems to occur on many machines in our environment and to counter this issue we have been disableing media sence checking on the OS or Q239924
The problem resurfaces after a while no matter what is done
Any help would be great

No luck on the names our max is 12 characters
I do however like the second artical and will give this a try.
Thanks

Not that I can see
The Event veiwers dont show any thing either
Thanks

Are you mapping to a network name or an IP address.

If using a name try using a IP address and see if that works...
If it does then maybe you dont have WINS configured correctly

Have you looked at the local lmhosts or host files for bad domain entries?
Wins entries correct for these pcs?

If they are not running the logon script how are they getting authenicated to the domain? By which server?

Let me know if any of this helps
