We are only getting some mail from outside our organisation. some messages are delivered fine. others are bounced back with NDR 4.4.7. Anyone got any ideas??
Running Exchange 2000 (SBS) I have tried sending into this server from various outside sources. some work fine some dont? Could it be a DNS issue? Exchange Config Issue?

Thanks

that error is an indication of congestion problems on the receiving side. nothing really you can do...

Check with your ISP that they have configured reverse lookup for you

Cheers

There are only 20 users on this server. It is not overworked. I will check the reverse lookup.

Thanks

I think the problem is at the sending server, because i'm having the same problems but the thing is I AM the sending server :)

Have you tried a telnet on port 25 to the sending server?
Could you please paste the answer you get from that server here?

I can telnet to port 25 from both sides. but I cannot send from company 2 to company 1. Company 1 can send and receives some mail (not all) company 2 can send and receive everywhere except to company 1???

I think it is DNS. I still have to check with the ISP.
