I'm pretty sure that this is related to the fact that the network shares on my server (windows 2k sp4) aren't showing up. It basically will not allow me to add any new computers to the domain. All users currently in the domain cannot access any of the shares either. I can find no errors (other then w32time) in the event viewer either. I had a similar problem yesterday and wiped and reformatted and the server worked great until I came in this morning. The server was not reset during the night. Any help would be appreciated.

Matt from what you are describing, ie not being able to add machines to the domain and not being able to map to shares sounds like a name resolution problem. You haven't mentioned if you are in a workgroup, AD or NT4 domain env.

It's an AD and using nslookup everything seems to be fine on the DNS side of the house. I'm kinda at a loss for what's causing it.

per chance is your PDC multihomed (ie 2 or more NICs). This could be causing your browsing problems

Nope, there's only 1 NIC and the box runs everything in the office. It's a P4 box with SATA drives in mirror mode normally but I had to disable them to keep a "most current" backup. So I've got one with the old filesystem, which was having the same problems, and then the new filesystem on the new drive which is suffering the same fate. The NIC isn't bad though as far as I can tell because we are able to access the server's IIS platform and we can PING the server. All attempts so far to access the filesystem itself have failed. I've been working on this since yesterday morning when the first problems showed up and running down the list it seems some sort of weird configuration problem or a hardware issue.
