I get the error message "Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection" when I attempt to register / log-on to a SQL Server on a network.
On some machines the SQL Server will register / log-on without a problem but in a couple of cases (two laptops) I get the error as above.
Can anyone shed some light as to why I'm seeing this ?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hi Steve

When you're trying to register the SQL Servers are you logged in as yourself or as the normal user of the PC. If its individual user accounts which are causing the problem, it may be worth double checking their SQL Server logins to make sure there's no discrepancy you've overlooked.
Are all the computers on the same domain?

Cheers

Clare

Thanks for the pointer Clare.
It boiled down to the fact that we needed to have 'SQL Server and Windows authentication' checked against the security tab of the server properties.
We were then able to connect (without hiccup) from all client machines.
Thanks again.
