I have a fairly large mdb (A2000)in a multi user environment. We have 2 plants with a fiber optic cable running between buildings. Last week a contractor cut the line (it was fixed immediately)Starting that day, and just about everyday since then, once per day we get the This is not a database, or needs to be repaired error meesage. Once I get everyone who is already logged on out, I run a compact/repair and it works fine until usually the next day. This system has been active for over 2 years, and until last week, I never had this error. We are going through a lot of construction in the other building, so I was wondering if a pc is logged on to the system, and the data cable is disrupted (unplugged etc) if this would be the cause, or if it is something wrong with the database itself?
Thanking you in advance,
-JRS

It might be the database file itself. What you should do is attempt to import all the database objects into a new database and see if it fails on any particular object.

Also, if you'd provide an exact error message, maybe someone would recognize it and provide you with a solution that worked for them.
