Hi All, I am trying to install norton Utilities 2002 after installing norton anti-virus 2005,after I insert cd in drive, noton utilities starts , i choose install utilities, that is when I get a window That says (Please Go to control Panel to install and configure system components). i have been looking at dougknox.com and Kellys Korner and have not been able to find any information to help fix this .

Any help with this issue would be Greatly appreciated.

Thanks Linne, for the links , I went through them and I kept seeing look for and delete setup.inf , I cannot find it on my computer , any other Ideas ?

Thanks
Wayne

I saw some mention of autorun.inf file in one of those links as causing a similar problem.

If you are searching your computer for files make sure you have it set to show all hidden and system files.

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Windows.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

HOW TO: Verify Unsigned Device Drivers in Windows XP

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
