I have Norton 2003 and my subscitpion is run out........
Not renewing !!! Tryiig another....

Any way..........

Everytime I uninstall, after the reboot......Prior to completed boot it comes and says the a device file associated with the system.ini is missing........Don't no where or what this file is???????

When I try to overwrite Windows 98 Second Addition it won't run since it says there may be an anti virus program running.

I shut everything I can think of off...(Plus Norton is not even on the computer any longer...

What can I do ?

Run msconfig and uncheck it in the autoecex.bat and also look at the startup tab and uncheck it there as well. You may have to do this in safe mode F5.

Like bigjohnd says, contact Norton (FAQ), there is a program to properly remove NortonAV. They don't make it easy! Curious, why you don't like the program? I've used it since Norton 2000 (2002). I up graded to 2003 because it was re-written for WinXP.

Thanks,,,,,,,,,I did go to the site and get the program to remove it...........

I do like Norton I was having problems with overwriting windows .........Saying anti virus running in background and I couldn't find the prob so I removed Norton and fixed my windows issue and will reload Norton.......

Before you reload Norton try AVG, it don't have these problems.
