Hi
I think i've done afew or most of the things i may get as a soln but i can't afford not ask yet again. I was trying to install Norton 2003 on a pc running win 98. Installation goes sucessful, on restarting the comp, an error comes prompting to install norton again. Their were some viruses which i've run their fix's. What could i do?

Make sure your AV program is updated with the latest files, and do another virus search.
Then, uninstall Norton 2003, shut down all programs running in the background, except Explorer and Systray, by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del on the Desktop, and reinstall N2003.

If you want to do an on-line scan as a cross check on Norton to be sure everything is gone, here's a list

Symantec document about how to uninstall in case you have concerns about whether the uninstall completed ok.

If McAfee was installed on the machine previous to Norton, a more thorough uninstall of McAfee may be needed.

Which virus did it have? And does the error it is returning have a code?
