My boss says the Avaya engineers told him these wireless IP Phones will work with the IPO. So far, everything I have found says they won't. Anybody have any idea about this?

They look like the Avaya phones so maybe they will work.
Only i never worked with those wireless phones so i am not able to help you out.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The 6140 emulated a Nortel 1140e IP Phone. The 1140e phones ARE supported, however only once they are converted to SIP.

I'm not aware of the 6140 being SIP compliant. This phone is not mentioned in the Product Description manual. Everything that is supported is mention in the Product Description manual. No mention of the 6140 at all.

I would say it's not going to work on IP Office.

So I guess I should treat them like the 1120's I recently converted for the same customer, find whatever firmware makes them SIP-ready, and see what happens?

I am also putting in some Avaya 3641's for the first time. I have them registering, they pull ext information from the pbx, but I get no dial tone, and fast busy when attempting to dial. Any ideas where to look to fix this one?

A 6120/6140 manufactured in August 2010 or later can load SIP software in addition to UNIStim software. That SIP software is only supported on Avaya Aura and not on IP Office. This is outlined in
A 6120/6140 shipped since the start of 2013 can load H.323 software in addition to SIP/UNIStim software. These models have a black bezel around the screen so look different than the older 6120/6140 which have a silver bezel. These newer "universal" handsets will work on IP Office once the 3641/3645 H.323 software is loaded on them.

Thanks for the insight. At least I have a definitive answer now.
