Nortel 1120E with Plantronics EHS cable - does it work?

Hello, We've got a few Nortel 1120E phones with the USB port... upon first look, it appears we could leverage the Plantronics EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) cable to answer calls without picking up the handset. Even though we went through the phone's 'Telephone Options > On hook default path' and set it to 'Headset enabled' - we still aren't having any luck with using the Plantronics Savi Headset to answer an incoming call. Even when we pick up the handset, not even getting audio to the headset at this point.
Wondering if the 1120E is really able to leverage the USB?

Anybody successfully using Plantronics EHS cables with the Nortel 1120E telephones?

Got it...
Figured out "on hook default path" isn't as important as THIS menu setting: "Telephone Options > Preferences > Headsets > Active Headset Device: - change it from "Wired" to "USB"

Also worth noting... on the 1165E phone, you will only see the option for 'Wired' - you will NOT see the option for "USB" (or "Bluetooth") ... UNTIL - you interrupt the telephone's boot-up by going into Administrative menu and select the option to enable "Bluetooth headset" (Y). Funny that the Administrative gate opener for Bluetooth headset also opens the option for USB headset - because it doesn't mention anything about the USB headset in the Administrative menu!

Awesome solution from Plantronics - the EHS cable (partnered with the Savi Office headset base) manages the 11xx Avaya / Nortel phones without handset lifters and will make end users very happy workstation roamers. :)
