Norstar door phone box

Was wondering if anyone has experienced Norstar door phone boxes not working assinging outbound trunks for off premise dialing.
 
Please explain what you are trying to do. Doorphones can't dial out
 
This is a Nursing home that once had a AT&t system.
The door box was set up on the AT&T system to dial out to the main # of the nursing home, at that point when the system was in Night Mode All ext's would ring. This door box main purpose is a Transport Van would show up @ 4:00 am and want to pick up a patient say for Dialisys, someone would see that the phone is Ringing and go downstairs and open the door.

Since then the AT&T system was in a area that became flooded and wasted the AT&T. Someone else installed a norstar ICS and I went out and replaced this door box with a Norstar door box. Cannot dial out external so I have answer dn's of that ext on two phones.the problem is @ that time of day the nurses are talking on the phone or not answering these ringing ext's so the Transport van leaves and the patient misses their Doc appt.
My customer is very unhappy about the capability of the Norstar Vs. AT&T.
Any Suggestions.
 
I've never tried it so I'm not sure if it will work with a doorphone. You can try setting the doorphone as a hot line to an external number. Terminals and Sets > doorphone DN > Capabilities > Hot Line > External > phone number (xxx-xxxx) > Use line pool. Be sure you have set your lines in a line pool.
 
So program your norstar door phone to ring all DN's. It does not have to be an outside line to do that, and I doubt the ATT used an outside line to do it either-

There are other types of doorboxes that you can integrate through a CO trunk- and make all phones ring.

The limited capabilities are not with the Nortel system.
