Hello Group,

I'm working on a Norstar CICS 6.1 MR software and can't seem to get the built-in Auto Attendant working properly. There is no voicemail system. Specifically, I'm trying to get the system to answer the incoming line calls after 2 rings (which it does), then press 0 to get x221 to physically ring. The problem is that it doesn't physically ring x221, it just flashes on a button and automatically gets put on hold.

The Admin documentation says that from the CCR, I should be able to get the set to physically ring and "reach an attendant by pressing a single digit (a way to transfer out of CCR and talk to someone)".

I'm tried lots of different combinations and still can't get it to transfer out and ring x221.

Anyone else ever hit this wall and successfully figured it out??

the auto attendant of the cics acts like a call sequencer
only answers and puts on hold

deactivate this and only activate the ccr
it gives you the greeting capability and the ccr function

Fireeater,

Thanks for the input. I've tried various combinations of turning off Feature *831, turning off the Answer function in System Programming, etc but can't seem to get the CCR to answer unless the other 2 places (mentioned above) are also turned on.

Here is the current programming setup that doesn't allow for transfer out to a ringing attendant (221) or ringing extension (222):

System Programming:
Auto Attendant - On
Set: x221
System Answer: After 3 rings
Fax Switch: Off

CCR: After 2 rings
CCR Groups: Grp 1, 222 Assigned

Feature *831: On
Feature *832: CCR: Bus, Open
Feature *833: Grtg A Mode: User (recorded w/a custom grtg), Grtgs B through G all optioned "Off"
CCR Tree 1: Dial 0: Attendant
Dial 1: CCR grp 1 (all other CCR prompts optioned "off")

If I try to turn off F*831, nothing picks up.

So I guess I'm still wondering what I might be missing? How can you turn off the AA while leaving the CCR on if the CCR seems to be dependent upon the AA ??
