Question:

I currently have a Norstar 824 DS (I think it is DR3, but I must check.) Before I buy a DR5 cartridge to upgrade my 824, I want to ask if anyone has had luck accessing it with the Norstar Manager 3.5 software and a FastRAD devide. I would like to be able to manage it through Norstar Manager so I can have a backup if the system loses its power and programming, instead of having to enter everything through a phone terminal.

Thanks

My experience is that NRU 3.5 is the best version to use with 8X24 of any s/w version.

Okay. But I have a problem:

I have an 824 with DR3 software. Whenever I try to access it with the software, the software hangs and won't do anything. The system sees the RAD, I can run a virtual M7310 terminal with no problem. But, the NRU 3.5 will not connect to it. Do I need to do anything special? Or does DR3 not support NRU?

Thanks

DR3 is only supported with the Virtual 7310 nothing else will work. not till rel 2.0

With DR3, you are stuck....though I do seem to remember something about an old DOS based program for dinosaurs...........DR5 you can use Norstar Manager 3.5 or 3.7.

Okay. This will justify me buying the DR5 cartridge I am looking at. Unless anyone has the old DOS "dinosaur" program??

Thanks for your help.
