inherited those two. i know the system is working but don't know if mail is ...don't even know if compatible! All i get when i boot mail, after all tests have passed is
'version code: 06JGL170,GRP04 Canadian english/French'
'Starting Star Talk Flash Access/2'
then i get endless '!! tel wait for FuncTerm' and it reboots

is it good for trash? can someone suggest me? thanks

It doesn't see the 3x8! Is it hooked up properly? If so then it is not compatible.

The 3x8 must be DR5 or DR5.1 to be Compatable with Flash.

OK, when I check the version I get PS 30NiG15 NAT.

I guess DR5 are the old one right? So I'll put aside the mail, it's not really thrash.

Thanks for the response

The only versions I can find on my charts for 3x8 are MP & NQ so I would guess it's a DR1.

30NiG15 sounds like a CICS 4X8 not a 3X8 no?
What verion is the Feature card inside the flash unit?

Not being familiar, I would say you are right about the 4x8. Think I saw in config for lines the options 001-004.
As for flash card version, it's release 01, version 1.7.0.
Thanks for following up.

If this is a CICS instead of a 308 then the Flash should work with it. Since the CICS software is 4x8 only the first 8 extensions are active. You must use one of the first 8 pairs of wires coming out of the station connector of the CICS and connect it to the #2 port on the Flash.

Brian,
it is a CICS (Norstar Plus Compact ICS). I have a phone on port 101 and Flash on 105. Inside Flash Talk, only two rj-11, when I jack into second one, I get message to check port and TCM connections, so I know it's the other one.

KSU sees on port 105 STK1. Are we getting somewhere? Thanks a lot.

I meant the port labeled with the number 2, instead of the port labeled with the number 4. Only thing I can assume is that the CICS software version is 4.0 or higher which would explain why the V1.7 Flash will not boot. A Flash must be V1.9 or higher to work with a CICS R4.0 or higher. Does the CICS flash card indicate the version on the white sticker?

Brian Cox

This is what the sticker has:

NNTM8455LEWS 2001/01/02
NT7B64BC 0001 REL 01
CICS-RP 4.1 S/W W16.15

Thanks Brian and all others. Now I know excatly where I stand with this.

You can buy a software card for the Flash fairly cheap on eBay. Put in the words "Flash BRU" if you are looking for the latest version or Flash 2.0.1 for what will get you going.

I've just come across a 3x8 I need to add voicemail onto and I was thinking a Star Talk Flash (2-port). I need to have version 1.7 or later software in the StarTalk Flash, correct?

The 3x8 is a NT5B05DL-93 with SP: 30NQE07 DR5. (is that DR5.1 or just DR5?) It has disconnect supervision? Through the forums here it seems as though it probably has Caller ID as well -- I'll enable it on the 3x8 and the folks can order the service at their leisure...

I'd like to replace two of the 7208 phones with 7310s, might there be any issues with that?

Many thanks,

peter

You need Falsh Talk 1.35 or up
Sounds like DR 5.1
Should have DS
If the box has black print on it then it does not have DS, if green print then it has DS.
Call ID yes
Issues with sets M series sets no.
