Is there a way to turn the Normal Mode Indicator OFF on an IP 1140 set? We are able to on our 1120's on-site but this option is unavailable with all of our 1140's.
not on the 1140's or 1165's. I know it sucks. I was hoping a new firmware would do this but I don't know if they are going to. I have let Avaya know about this, but still have not heard about anything coming down the road to change this.

SMG indicator. At the SMG side, if the site is working normally, you will see the screen flash a message. On all IP phones except 1140 and 1165 you can remove this. It's just something that flashes on the display every 10 seconds or so.

There is a patch for the User: 9402xxxx message flashing on the screen after New callers:
We haven't implemented it yet but I did ask my vendor about it.
I know some employees don't like to see it - I say stop looking at your phone and get to work It doesn't do it if you are on a call - it is only during standby (onhook) mode So, obviously they are not busy on a call!
Seriously, I say it is a good way (for us) to know if their phone is in proper remote operation. Personally, I would rather leave it on.
I have my phone registered to my SMG so that way I know if there is a system issue (well except for if the WAN fails). It does not bug me at all so I must stay busy enough ... haha
