Nonexistent service

When we start up Windows we get the following error, followed by others:

The Backup Exec Device & Media Service service depends on the following nonexistent service: MSSQL$BKUPEXEC

The WARNING light on our Quantum media drive is on as well. Can anyone tell me what the hell this means? The advice on Veritas' official site is of no help -
 
The first error message sounds like you didn't load Backup Exec correctly. First check your list of services (right click on the MyComputer icon, select Manage, find Services in the list. Click on Services and try to find that service).

I'm not familiar with Quantum drives, you'll have to check that on their website or in your documentation. It might just mean it needs cleaning.
