HI,

Our Nokia IP350 appliance failed to boot recently. We took the disk and did file system checks on the disk and several errors were repaired. However on replacing the disk the appliance still cannot boot. Kindly assist us on how we can reinstall the IPSO system from the provided disk which is not bootable.

Please note that our device has no cdrom or floppy drives. How can we reimage/recover the box.

Thank you.

1. have the IPSO image on a pc or laptop.

2. connect this device to the nokia via the console port.

3. and then download the image from the device via ftp.

Thanks watchguardmonkey,

I know about the ftp procedure for repairing the image. however, the device is not booting at all - not even to the prompt! it signifies boot loader/manager failure. we got good assistance from Nokia Tac support (with a long trail of emails and tel calls) and we just have to have the IP350 repaired/replaced.

If you have a working firewall, you can take the disk out, image it and the copy the image to a new disk and put this in the faulty firewall.

I use Acronis to do this, but you can do it directly from the firewall using dd
