I am very sorry if this is a repeat post, tere's been a problem with my account, and I can not see the replies, just that themut responded.

Basically, I want to specify static ip for my vpn vertual NIC, and our network people tell me this can not be done. Is that true?

Thank you again.

This is somewhat true. The Ip you get for your vpn connection is probably assigned by the vpn server or most like on an address pool. Now depending on the vpn hardware, the network admin can choose to configure authentication via 3rd party like LDAP or TACACS which can give users a static IP.
