No Transport Provider

I am running exchange server 5.5 sp4. I have a company of about 100 people. A few of these people cannot send external emails. I have found that if I move their emails and have all of their new emails delivered to their personal folders instead of the folder that is stored on the server, I don't get an error message. The message that I would get is "No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient." Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks so much!!
 
Do they have Outlook installed in corporate email mode? There should be an entry in their mail profile for Exchange Server.
 
Sounds like the mailboxes may be corrupt. We get that sometimes and recreate the mailbox and it works fine. You get strange things with mailbox corruption. Sometimes the users can send everywhere exept for one or two specific external addresses. They get the same error.
 
I do have the corporate email mode installed. I did try to delete the mailbox and readd it, however it did not work. I just lost all of the emails because I forgot to make a copy. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!
 
I'd suggest trying everything on the microsoft KB under that error:


In my opinion this is one of the stupidest, least informative errors that microsoft has. They may have well have said: "error, I don't know what's wrong." Sometimes with my users it's a slightly mispelled name in the addressbook (with punctuation or something), another time it was they were replying to an email that had an odd ascii character in it that messed up the sending routine. I had them just send a fresh email to the person and it worked.
