No start menu/taskbar

Hi,

I have a laptop with Win98 SE on. When it boots up, everything is fine (i.e. desktop, etc) except that there is no taskbar/start menu. Its not hidden anywhere on the screen.

I've ran Norton Utils, several virus fixes, and even reinstalled Win98 SE over the top again, but still no success.

Anyone got any ideas?

IF you hit CTRL+ESC can you see the Start menu??

If possible, d/l Ad-aware, Spybot, and CWShredder, and run all of them to remove any spyware.

Managed to fix it. There was 2 different monitors set up in the display settings. Changed to the other setting and untick "extend the windows desktop" box and, law and behold, it reappeared!
