hi.
SQL2K SP3
Windows2K Advanced Server (MS Active-Passive cluster)

I cannot access SQL Server performance counters on any node of the cluster. The counters are not available in perfmon, and sysperfinfo (the virtual table which holds sql counters exposed to perfmon) is empty... Is there an option that can turn these counters on?

Thanks!!!!

Are you running either the sqlserveragent or mssqlserver as localsystem?

My memory says you need to have them running as an NT account with local admin permissions or you won't see anything.

Try rebooting the server.

We found that altering SQL memory settings or possibly the hardware configuration "loses" the SQL objects. Stop & strat of SQL server doesn't re-establish them. Reboot of server did.
