Hi,

I have a computer here i am trying to sort the sound out on. Now, i am told that the sound did work at one point. At this stage i am completely stumped as to what the problem is. I have a pair of speakers here that i plugged into my own computer which work perfectly. Now when i connect them to the 'broken' computer i get no sound whatsoever. they are in the correct port, i have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and the most updated ones as well. Nothing is muted. Now, if i go into Control Panel > Sound Effect Manager I get the AC97 Audio Configuration. In it in the Connector Sensing I get the following:

but i cant figure out what could be using the sound. Any ideas? If anymore info is needed just ask.

Have you checked the BIOS to see audio isn't disabled?

What about the 10-pin audio header on the motherboard? If no front panel connectors attached, then the relevant Line-Out connectors need jumpering for sound out of the motherboard rear jack.

GOAOZ you are a genius. Here was me sitting here thinking it was software related when all along it was the jumpers. Never looked in there as never thought the system had ever been opened. The connectors were loose, thanks alot.

I gave him a star for you.
