Hi
I need to upgrade a server from NT4 to Win 2k but the partition that windows NT4 is on is 2Gb and full. This gives me no room to upgrade.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
Thanks Nick

More details, please- is there unallocated space on the disk that the partition can expand to using a utility such as Partition Magic? Can you replace the drive and either ghost over your install or restore from backup? Or use the drive's install utility to move your installation to the new disk?

The setup is:

Raid 5
5 partitions
Disk 0:
system 2Gb - 115 Mb free
page 2Gb - 1.4 Gb free
Disk 1:
Divided into 3 partitions full of shared files.

Partition magic for servers will cost about $595 USD - too much! Nick

Is it not possilbe to rebuild the server with a fresh install of Win2k? Upgrading always leaves you with terrible performance compared to a fresh install.

Just a thought... Glenn

Thanks for trying to help.

I have just found a 500mb .dmp file on root and deleted it.
If I remove backup exec, I think I will have just enough room to upgrade!
Phew. Nick
