I'm trying to install a printer but when I tell XP that I will select a device from the list it says that there are no device drivers to be found! I've never seen this in XP. It's almost as if the device drivers have not been loaded at all. And, to top it all off, the button that's usually there for Windows Update is not there either.

What's happening???

It sounds as though your XP has missing or corrupted files.
Try running a system files check.

Go to Start, Run and enter: sfc /scannow. You will be asked to insert your XP Disk. This should install missing files and replace any corrupted files.

Good Luck

I did this and it still says that there are no printer driver files! What else should I do? Reinstall XP?
