No Picture

When ever I receive e-mail, with pictures, I am not able to see the picture, all the text is visible, I can see a blank frame and in the frame on the top left corner I can see a red "X" mark inside a squire. I have Verizon e-mail. And I am running Windows 2000. How can I fix this?

Do you have a dedicated link to the internet or is it just a dial-up? If it is dial-up then connect to the internet and you will be able to view your pictures.

I am on a LAN, not on a dial-up.
