I've posted this 3 times . . . Has anyone encountered this or is it just a big problem?

I registered a common dialog control I am using for Access:
START-RUN "regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx"
It worked at several computers but at other workstations, I got an ERROR MESSAGE:

"Load Library ("comdlg32.ocx") failed get lasterror return 0x00000007e"

-Is there a file missing. If there is what is it and where should it be?

The work stations are wunning on NT

-Doug

Hi Doug,
Sorry but I can't say I've ever seen this before. I think you might need to give MS a call or try the post in another "office" based forum. Sorry to not be of help. :( Gord

I have no idea if this will work but as a suggestion why don't you see if the computers that worked actually had the ocx in the system windows system file where as those that arent working may not have them.

The file is missing. I didn't know it could be that simple. thanx jofarrell. Any ideas on why it would be missing

check the path of comdlg32.ocx and pass the entire path in the command line (i.e)

RegSvr32.exe c:\WinNt\System32\comdlg32.ocx

Depending on how a system is set from the start I normally find even though they run the same operating system they do not always contain the same dlls and ocxs necessary to run extra programs. I normal write VB apps and install them and find I am constantly adding dlls and ocxs to computers that are said to be on the same operating systems. I have no idea why they arent included but anytime I add something to a project I normally make sure it is either included on my install disk I make or check the computers I am adding it to, even if they are networked. Glad you figured it out.
