I am using C#.net (2003) and the built in Crystal Reports (I think it is 10 maybe 9). How come I can't copy multiple text object and paste them? Access reports has this functionality. I have about 15 reports that have the same Page Headers and Footers in Access (anywhere from 20 - 40 fields). I don't want to have to type every darn caption, over and over again. Has anyone found a fix for this.

Thanks,

Rocco

Hi Rocco,
I had trouble doing multiple copy and paste of text objects, as I also had about 40 objects to copy. What I ended up doing is copy only a few (5) text objects at a time and I was able to paste them. My objects were listed row by row, so I copied a row at a time. It seemed like if I copied more than one row, it wouldn't work. It takes more time, but it was better than retyping them.
Hope this helps.

I'd create a template with all of these objects in it, and save it. Then you can write the reports starting with the template.

Ks/dgillz, are you using the IDE in VS.net or are you using the Crystal IDE (I only have the IDE through VS.net)? If I select 5 text boxes and right click on them, there is no Copy function there. I guess I should have mentioned that above. Also, dgillz, I do not have the capabillity to save the report as a template (or do you just mean to save it as another instance of the report and than start every report off of this?).

Thanks for your help

Rocco

I mean save it as another instance of the report.

Thanks dgillz, I had already did "save as" (prior to my post) but have a star anyhow.

Hi Rocco,
I am not using VS.net, I just thought the plugin would have the same functionality. I didn't right click either after I selected the text object, I pressed CTRL 'C' on the keyboard and then went to my new report and CTRL 'V'.
I hope that works for you.
ksbigfoot.

When I do a Ctrl-C and then do a Ctrl-V, it just wants to paste a line (no matter if I have copied and pasted a text object prior).

Thanks,

Rocco
