no more processes/logins on 4.0F / alpha 4100

Hi all,

after running some hours there is no more login possible on a alpha 4100 with OSF 4.0F. Logged in users can work in their applications. Logged in users within a shell cannot start any processes or shells. For example they cannot start an ls. Problem cannot be resolved by logouts from users. Any idea what parameters must by changed ?

Sounds like you max threads per user needs to be updated. type the command sysconfig -q proc and see what its set to. You'll then need to edit the /etc/sysconfigtab and update or add the value in the proc: section. This update will require a reboot.
