I did a freshly install of NT4.0 server on a compaq proliant 800. When I applied service pack 4 or 5 and then reboot I lose the login screen so i can't log on at all. The computer just stays there with a blank screen no errors at all. I reformated the pc 3 times but no luck. Does anybody have any clue? Driving me nuts can anyone help? thanks so much

You could try installing NT, then go straight to SP6 and not load SP 4 or SP5.

Do not use SP6, because it consist of a lot of bugs. The actual version is 6a.
