No Icons under Administrative tool 3

On my Windows2000 Professional machine, when I go to Control Panel/Administrative Tool/there is no items. on the lift side of the screen it saya " There are no items to show in this folder" what is wrong? how can I fix this?

Sounds like the links were deleted, copy from another machine.

I manage a lot of servers with terminal services sessions and I find that some of the machines have had their tools made "invisible" through recycling of bits. I copied the links to a path and just \\server\me\admintools\ to get the tools I need.

It is unfortunate that some of the links no longer tell you where the executable file is they are pointing to. The "target" shows the program name. Makes it harder to find the specific .exe or .msc file to click on.

Try (at command line):

sfc /scannow

This may prompt you for the original installation disk. However, I've found this to be a quick fix for things of this sort. Good luck!
