Hosts file describes many-to-one mapping of device names to IP addresses. I noticed that there are no Hosts files on 2003 servers. Please how can one achieve such mapping on 2003 server.

Larsdemo is correct there are more upto date ways for name resoution, I was just pointing out the location of the file. The Hosts file can still be handy when testing rather than costantly massing with your DNS server.
