I have a C2600 Router using Vers 12.2
I have plugged an ISDN line into one of the Bri ports and when i try to do force an ISDN call using the following

isdn call int bri1/1 xxxxxxx

I get the following message come up.

3d02h: ISDN BRI0/0:
isdn_is_bchannel_available: No Free B-channels

If i look in the ISDN call History no call is made at all.

Below is the list of the config,

interface BRI1/1
no ip address
encapsulation ppp
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
isdn switch-type basic-net3

Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
ISDN BRI1/1 interface
dsl 9, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
ACTIVE
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 86, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = TEI_ASSIGNED
I_Queue_Len 0, UI_Queue_Len 0
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 9 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x3
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 0

Has anybody any ideas what i am doing wrong??

thanks

Layer 2 hasn't finished establishing. Your status shows "TEI_ASSIGNED" it need to be at "MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED". here is a sample of a BRI that is ready to place or receive calls:

Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 76, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
TEI = 77, Ces = 2, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
TEI 76, ces = 1, state = 5(init)
spid1 configured, spid1 sent, spid1 valid
Endpoint ID Info: epsf = 0, usid = 70, tid = 1
TEI 77, ces = 2, state = 5(init)
spid2 configured, spid2 sent, spid2 valid
Endpoint ID Info: epsf = 0, usid = 71, tid = 1

The problem is more than likely a SPID issue. Your config show no SPIDs. That's a whole new ball game. There are so many different SPID formats depeneding on the CO switch. What country are you in? What type of CO switch are you attached to? Has the BRI provider given you the SPIDS? If not call them and ask them for the SPID info. On thing to try is ISDN AUTODETECT command. This needs to be done under conf t, int bri1/1. I'll check back to see if that helped.

btw - a little phone company humor here. What does ISDN stand for?? (I)t (S)till (D)oes (N)ot work. (And SPIDs are the most reason for this.)
