When i am in a folder in windows 98se i find that when i click a file i don't get any information or preview in the left pane. It is just completely blank. This is a big problem because when i go to my windows folder in the c drive i can't get in because it warns you about editing the windows folder. (i know this from old system) and you need to click a link in the left pane to continue whci is BLANK.
All help would be much appreciated!

Surprisingly, a repair install of IE might fix it.
Win98 is, of course, delicately interwoven OS and IE, and I've fixed problems in the OS with this method.
Look for the System Information dialog box and you'll find the IE repair tool.
You may also have to resort to using System File Checker and your help files will help you run it. You'll need the CD at hand.

Before doing anything open Windows Explorer click on View>Folder Options>View and make sure Show all files is selected.
