I don't want excel to print a header or footer on the first page. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks.

This is not an elegant solution and I'm sure there must be a better way, possibly using VB.

Go to Print Preview and see what appears on Page 1. Cut this from the Workbook and save it under a separate name. Print that sheet. Then, with the remaining pages under the original filename, insert the header/footer before printing the remainder of the Workbook.

HTH. I'll be interested to see if there is a better way!

I have now thought of a slightly better way which avoids having to delete part of the original workbook.

First, do not have any header/footer. Then when ready to print, select File > Print. When Printer dialog box appears, select to print page 1 only. When page 1 has been printed, go back to the original workbook and insert the header/footer. Now select File > Print again but this time when the Printer dialog box appears, select to print from pages 2 to end.

The only thing to remember is that if the data in the workbook is up dated and a new printed copy required then the header/footer would have to be deleted again before printing page 1. Hope this makes sense but there still might still be a better way!
