Just installed a new plexxtor PX760A DVD/CD and a sony CRX320EE DVD/CD.

Both play CDs and load software but get the following error message when try to load a DVD

2Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

I upgraded to windows media player 10 and also downloaded the codecs.

But still the same.

Any ideas?

Hi,
DVD decoders are not part of WMP ( or, it seems, your DVD drives' supplied software)..
You need to install a 3rd party one ,like those here:

media player doesn't have dvd codecs installed, you need to download a dvd player app.
