Hi guys,a couple of days ago when I turned on my pc there was no display signal.Ok I thought my FX went dead so I replaced it with an older(working)one.Nothing!Fine I thought the screen is playing games,so I tried another screen, nothing again! Now I'm beginning to get upset.Any ideas on what can have gone wrong?

A little more detail: does the rest of the system seem to work OK? Any "beeps" from the system on boot-up? Is this AGP or PCI video? Please post what you can about your system.

Like the motherboard name and model, etc, etc.

And exactly what happens when you boot? Such as, what fans spin, what noises and sounds do your hear, what fans dont spin, does the hard drive spin, can you feel power in the hard drive?

Ok,my mobo is an MSI MS-7005 with a celeron 3.4.When I boot there aren't any unusual sounds, everything sounds business as usual but like I said there is no signal. The monitor's led stays orange on my crt(nec)and my tft tells me that it's going to sleep cause there is no signal!!
Oh almost forgot, both cards I used were AGP ones and I also used the integrated one but again without result.

Can you find a place in the bios where it says that agp is enabled and the first place for the bios to check for video?
Also, check the manual and see if there is a jumper for that. I dont think so as i have an MSI nero2, not far off from what you have.

Can you try a PCI video card, and set BIOS for "PCI first"? The AGP port might have gone bad.

Sorry 'bout that - if you have no video, you can't see the BIOS screen! Just plug in a PCI vid card and see what happens.

No bios screen? No system beeps? No hard drive activity?

Well you might first try to reset the cmos but it
Sounds like you power supply has failed on one of it's rails.

This type of PSU failure often gives the appearance that the power supply is fine but all you get are lights and fans and no post.

Try a replacement (quality) PSU recommended.

OK,I when I tried the integrated graphics again everything was fine, but with AGP nothing happens.Like I said I've used two different cards and two different monitors.I don't have a PCI card so I can't try one.The setting in the BIOS is for AGP first.Could it be a driver thing?

Hey guys,I've just reset the bios and everything's ok now.
Thanks for the tips!

If it happens again, then, as paparrazi says, you have to suspect the power supply.
first, though, give the cmos battery a quick check, its supposed to be 1.5 volts.
If thats ok then reset the bios and check the power supply lines (rails, voltages) for 12v, 3,3 volt and 5 volt.
You can buy a multimeter to do this for around $10 or less and you can google the instructions. Techrepublic has a good one.
