I recently installed CRvXI and would like to place the repository in a location other than the default location upon installation )of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin). Documentation states that the install configures a Crystal Repository ODBC system DSN, and if you choose to place the repository elsewhere, just change the orMap.ini file in the above folder to reflect the newly configured DSN.
Thinking this would work, I copied the MS Access DB created upon install, into a network location. I modified the ODBC configuration to select this location rather than the one on my c:\ (didn't modify the name of the repository). When I click on the Repository Explorer in my report, I have 'no server connection' with an opportunity to logon. When I enter logon credentials I receive the error:
The system (mycomputername) can be contacted, but there is no Central Management Server running at port 6400
I've tried an admin username/password as well as my own (I've got admin rights), and have tried Enterprise as well as Windows NT authentication.
Forgive my ignorance but is this looking for CE as well? We did not install the Crystal Report Server cd that came with vXI but do have CE9 Standard running.
Any help to this technically challenged individual would be greatly appreciated.
