U have to load CD ROM Drivers if u r working on Windows 95.

Check the jumpers of the drive and make sure it it setup correctly on the channel.

i.e. MASTER or SLAVE (especially if you have it on the same cable as the hard drive).

Also, you shouldn't "need" to use drivers via config.sys and autoexec.bat as 95 should detect and install the CD-ROM as Windows 98 does.

Last thing to check is to make sure that it is set correctly in the BIOS on the IDE channel it resides on.

Good luck!

Hi edemiere,

For ur knowledge, Win95 does not load CD ROM drivers automatically. For the first time usage u have to supply the drivers.

And as far as Win98 is concerned it will do automatically.

System Info PLEASE MARIE......

These are just "my" thoughts....and should be carefully measured against other opinions....I try very hard to impart correct info at all times.

Make sure that the jumpers on the CD rom are set to match the connection ie. Primary Slave or Secondary Slave or Secondary Master. I assume the hard drive is the Primary Master. He will have to look in the BIOS on startup and get the BIOS to recognise the CD. Put it on Auto Detect.

Going to sound dumb but make sure that you have the IDE & power cables plugged in the correct way?
