Good day,
Ok I put the Avaya IP Office, the VM PRO computer and the Netgear switch on the customers network, turned off all Vlan, and dhcp from the IP Office, and the 4610 IP sets can get dhcp from their $100 D-link router, but the IP sets could not reach the tftp server on the voicemail. Where could this be blocked? It is not our Netgear switch, because we are running two independent networks now and everything is fine. When running independent networks I am letting the Avaya be the dhcp server.
However, it just crossed my mind that Phone Manager and Softphone will not work, unless we can tie those two together somehow.
Any ideas?

Thats because the router does not have any scope options set?
For the Avaya extensions you need to use scope option 176 for telling the phone what the ip addresses of the tftp server and call manager ( IP Office ) are.

You can hard set the call server and file server in the phones and let the rest be DHCP then it will connect.

I don't believe you can set option 176 on the $100 Dlink router?
We tried hard coding the call server and file server and it still could not access the tftp server.

do you have manager open or another tftp program? pointed to the manager folder.

Manager is open, and we are also monitoring the tftp log.

If you set it static does it connect to tftp? I assume yes.

Your problem is th $100 router. It won't have any scope options. If you have 2 independant networks
why not let the avaya do the dhcp, but use the 2nd network port on it for connection to the customer lan. this means you can still use phonemanager and softconsole.

The second port on the IP500 is wan only, i do not believe it can be configured for lan.

We got it to work by hardcoding the ip address of each set and the address of the tftp server.

We ran the batch file for the windows firewall setttings.

Thanks for the help.
Dave

you can use the 2nd lan port for lan or wan. i have many sites like this and it does help.

take care

You can indeed use the Wan port, the only difference is the the writing says WAN not LAN above the port!! It can be configured in the LAN2 tab in system settings!!
