I'm not sure this error related to Crystal Reports or SQL
so I have posted it to both forums.

I CAN connect to two servers (production and test) via separate ODBC connections (with same login credentials), view the tables and run reports via Crystal Reports 8.5.
I cannot view or use the SQL stored procedures from the test server. The following error shows:
ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Syntax error or access violation

The ODBC connections test fine in the control panel.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks. Rob Hasard

In Crystal reports you have to change the db if u wanna run the sp through different db on report created with seperate db.For this Open the report designer Select Log On/OFF server and then select new ODBC connection. Do not do anything else before logging on the desired server. Hope this will solve your problem.

You have a security violation caused by SQL Server. You do not have the EXEC permission set for the stored procedure you are trying you using in Crystal. Check the permission set via the SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
