I am setting up a new unix open server 5.0.6 install on a new super micro p4sca mother board system with an embedded intel pro/100b network interface adapter. after install I get error messages. hwconfig -h gives
"eeE0 Bad EEPROM read. I also get
"dlpid: Unable to open network adapter driver (/dev/mdi/eeE0)
dlpid: No such file or directory.
/etc/slink: Function "cenetb", command 3: dlbind: protocol error 16, ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCGIFFLAGS): no such interface.
I have removed and installed the driver and the network adapter several times but contiue to get these errors.
what have i missed?

Have you applied the RS506A pathes ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

PHV, thank you for alerting me to that. I have downloaded and intalled the rs506a patch, and though it did remove some of the error messages I still get the following error messages.
eeE0 Bad EEPROM read. and
/etc/slink: Function "cenetb", command 3: dlbind: protocol error 16, ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCGIFFLAGS): no such interface.
sorry I am so thick.

I have resolved this issue by installing 2 nic pci cards and not using the onboard ethernet connector. altough not an elegant solution it works.
