NI-1 or NI-2 ISDN-PRI Question

Having a Prologic installed with ISDN-PRI T1 service from Verizon. This will be used like a Flex-path for my DID as well as outgoing. The question asked by Verizon is do I want Custon or National? I know this was talked about here on Tek-Tips before, but I can't for the life of me remember the answer.

Can anyone remember, or know the answer?

I am green in this area as I just did my first PRI a few weeks ago, but in the United States it seems that the consensus is National which I believe is NI-2.

I'm still not sure, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't:
NI1- 1 D chan controlling 1 or more T1's--
NI2- 1 primary D chan and one backup (rollover) D chan.

No, that is facility associated verses non facility associated signaling.

For simplification purpose NI-1 CID but no name, NI-2 name and number ID available
