I need help I just erased my flash files and now the switch just boots the loader. I have another switch that is the exact same. How can I get the flash from the working switch onto the other that doesnt have a .bin file.
thanks for the advise

When I do a reset I get the error system unable to boot automatically becuase there are no bootable files to boot

ok, get yourself a TFTP server (there's a decent free one available from 3com called 3CDaemon). And put it on a PC that can be seen from the working switch. Make a not of it's IP Address.

Telnet to the working switch and copy the binary to the tftp server.
# copy flash:IOSFILENAME.bin tftp

if the two switches aren't connected together, move the TFTP server onto the non working switch, and go to your Rommon session,

Then use the tftpdnld command to download the binary to the switch.

Alternatively, connect the TFTP server by a console cable (prolly best to use a laptop) to the non working switch and use XMODEM to transfer the binary - you can rewire the whole building while you wait for it to download.

Good luck,
Phil.

If everything is coming your way then you're in the wrong lane.
