OK, so I'm a dummy . . .
I have Apache2 running OK on my server (home setup), website up and running, virtual host set, lovely.
Now, how do I allow someone - myself or others - access to it from outside?
The fog in my brain covers the following questions;
- I need to be running and FTP server on the WIN2k box, so I have the Windows FTP server running - correct?
- Whoever will connect, needs a windows user account?
- How do I get ftp to allow the user control over the public_html directory of the site, and nothing else? FTP refers to the default ftp site, so I set that path to the public_html of the directory of the site, but that seems pretty restrictive.
I'm quite happy to totally destroy the box in my experimentation . . . getting it working is the priority, tidying up comes after.
Thanks.
