I am a newly employed programmer at a small company that uses the small business server package which includes Microsoft Exchange 2000. They currently do not use Exchange but I have noticed that it might help me and my collegues with our everyday work. I would first of all like to configure Exchange to update the outlook adressboxes on our computers. Would using Exchange enable me to make sure that all my collegues could read eachothers mail?
In the near future I would also like to be able to integrate the exchange server into all our other systems. How could this be done? Does Exchange have an API?

Thankful for answers.

Hi - look at the answers I got to the thread next to you for more detail - Exchange Security. Yes it does have an API, which has been hardened with the Exchange SP2. Every user who has a mailbox is set permissions which gives them priveliges as to what mailboxes they can view etc. I don't think it's a good idea to allow everyone to view all mailboxes but that's up to you to determine (Security Considerations etc.) I don't quite know what you mean by updating the address boxes - Do you mean Address Book or each users E-Mail address?

Good Luck
