newbie - configuring 2948 l3 switch

hey,

i have a catalyst 2948g-l3 48 port switch nd a 3600 router.

my switch runs ios v 12.0

i don't have a firewall but i want to use my switch to separate my internet services (dns, web server , etc) from my lan and email.

I know it should be easy but i'm a t a loss. I was thinking about either bridge groups or vlans, but can a switch have ports that are configured for different ip subnets?

if so what will i need to configure to allow this? can I use access lists with the switch to restict traffic to my lan?

You can setup vlans and routing between the vlans.

from the CLI type vlan database to add and edit vlans.
