Newb to PIX - Need Help on start

Ok I know im gonna get the stupid field for this but hey, I need help! I have a PIX 501 given to me by a friend. I dont know the passwords or nothin, nor can i recover them. I realize i need to use the Console to do this, the quick start guide provided NO help, and im just tryin to restore the factory config so I can get DHCP back. Can one of you awesome people here at tek-tips give me a hand? I would really appreciate it. HyperTerminal asks for a Username and password everytime.

Thanks much for the speedy reply. So I take it there MUST be a tftp server in order for a reset?

You must download the appropriate bin file from cisco and then load it to a tftp server. Do you have the appropriate file from cisco?

Really new to firewalls. I will be greatful for any help. We have a Cisco 515E firewall and can't even login to the darn thing. We have the adapter and console cable plugged in. We cannot connect using IE https:// and we cant get the username and password into the hyper term to go.

Any advice?
