Why reference a thread at another site? There has been plenty of discussion here about it. Plus, that thread isn't the most accurate - one guy suggests the problem has to do with 32 bit.

You've hit the common barrier that the old 28-bit LBA interface is limited to. You need 48-bit support, which must be supported by the BIOS, the ATA controller on your motherboard, and the operating system.
So like Erik said, make sure you have at least SP1 for Windows XP or SP3 for Windows 2000 (preferably the latest Service Pack for each). If this does not solve the problem, then visit your motherboard manufacturer's website to get the latest BIOS revision. Make sure the hard drive is showing the right capacity in the BIOS.
At the end, if all else fails and you have an older system, the best option for you might be to get a PCI IDE card that has 48-bit LBA support built in.
